Every connection starts on the platform's own authorization screen, which lists what Relator is requesting. Here is each permission, in plain language, and what it is for. The general rule: sync only reads data. Relator only changes something in an account when someone on your team takes an editing action inside Relator, such as pausing a campaign.

  2. 2
    Step 2

    Revoke on the platform

To also cut access on the platform side, remove Relator Digital from the list of connected apps: on Facebook, under business integrations or apps and websites; on Google, in your account's security settings, under third-party apps with access; on HubSpot and RD Station, in the connected apps area.

  3. 3
    Step 3

Reconnect if you need a new permission

When a feature needs a permission the connection does not have, reconnect the platform and accept every permission on the authorization screen. See Manage connections.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Relator ask for edit permission on Meta if I only want reports?

Because Relator also has a campaign manager that pauses, activates and edits ads. The permission is only used when someone takes one of those actions in Relator; report sync only reads.

Can Relator spend my budget on its own?

No. No change is made automatically. Campaign changes only happen when someone on your team makes them in Relator.

I revoked access on the platform. What happens in Relator?

Sync for that account stops working and the connection shows an error. Data already imported stays in reports. To resume, reconnect.

Do I need to be an admin of the ad account?

You need access to the accounts you are connecting. Details for each platform are in the connection articles, such as Connect Meta Ads and Connect Google Ads.
