Search Console in Performance
Google clicks, impressions, CTR, average position and queries on the SEO tab in Performance, crossed with the site audit.
In this article · 4 sections
With Search Console connected, the SEO tab in Performance shows what Google search did with the client’s site: how many times it appeared, how many clicks it got, in which position and for which terms. The same tab holds the site audit, and the two sources cross to show what is costing traffic.
Before you start
- Connect the client’s Search Console property. See Connect Search Console.
- Google publishes Search Console data with a 2 to 3 day delay. That’s why shortcuts like Today and Yesterday are unavailable for this source. See Search Console delay.
- Available on all plans.

Find the opportunity
Where the opportunity is and Pages by impact cross each page’s impressions with the issue the audit found on it. See Read the SEO audit.

At the end of the tab, All reports lists the Search Console reports (pages, queries, devices, countries). Click to open the full report with the same period.

Common problems
- "No queries in the period": Search Console reported no terms with clicks or impressions in that range. For very recent periods, remember the 2 to 3 day delay.
- "Nothing to cross yet": Search Console hasn’t reported pages for the period, or the domain hasn’t been audited.
- Pages with issues shows "No completed crawl": run the first audit. See Turn on the site SEO audit.
- A different number from Google’s panel: Search Console aggregates data differently by page and by query, and hides rare queries for privacy. Per-query totals tend to be lower than site totals.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn’t yesterday’s data show?
Google publishes Search Console data with a 2 to 3 day delay. Relator shows what Google has already released.
Average position went down. Is that bad?
No: for position, a lower number is better. That’s why a negative change shows as an improvement.
Do I need the audit to see Search Console data?
No. Search KPIs, queries and the trend work with Search Console alone. The audit adds Pages with issues and the cross-check.
