Relator Digital brings each client's paid media, website and CRM into one dashboard, with ready-made reports and an assistant that answers questions about the data. It is built for agencies that report to many clients and for companies.

Use cases

  • Cost per lead for each campaign. RD Station Marketing leads sit next to Meta Ads and Google Ads spend, and Relator ties each lead that has a UTM or gclid to the campaign that brought it.
  • Monthly report without spreadsheets. Funnel, campaign emails, automation emails and conversions from landing pages, pop-ups and forms go into the same report as paid media, which the client receives after you approve it.
  • Lead and sale in the same view. With RD Station CRM also connected, Relator matches the lead email with the deal contact and gets to the revenue of each campaign.

Integration type

Outbound: this integration sends data from RD Station Marketing to Relator Digital. Relator only reads: it doesn't create, change or delete leads, fields, tags or events in RD Station.

Integration requirements

  • Be a user of the RD Station Marketing Light plan or higher. Leads come in from that plan up.
  • For the analytics reports, have the Pro plan (emails and conversions from the last 45 days) or Advanced (also funnel and automation emails).
  • Have a Relator Digital account on any plan, including the 7-day free trial. The connection takes one of the client sources.
  • Have an RD Station Marketing login with access to the client's account. It is one RD account per client; in an agency, connect from inside the client's space.

Step by step

  1. 1
    Step 1

    Open Connections in the client

In Relator, open the client space and click Connections. You can also get there through search (⌘K or Ctrl+K) by typing "Connections".

  2. 2
    Step 2

    Choose RD Station Marketing

Click Connect new source. In the Marketing automation group, click RD Station Marketing.

  3. 3
    Step 3

    Authorize in RD Station

RD Station opens its own login screen. Log in with the user that has access to the client's account and confirm the authorization for Relator Digital. There's no account selection screen: the account of that login is the one connected.

  4. 4
    Step 4

    Check the connection

You go back to Data sources, with the message RD Station Marketing connected. and the account in the list.

    Step 5

    Follow the first load

The lead base comes in gradually, every hour, until it is complete. In Connections, the account shows the status and the time of the last sync.

Field mapping

Mapping is automatic and has no setup screen. Relator reads the fields below from each lead and writes nothing back to RD Station.

  • Email

    In Relator
Lead email. It is also the key to match the lead with the RD Station CRM contact.
  • Name and phone

    In Relator
    Lead record.
  • Created date

    In Relator
Capture date, used in lead charts and counts.
  • Last conversion date

    In Relator
Used to bring in, each round, only the leads that converted again.
  • Custom source fields (key ending in utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid or fbclid, such as cf_utm_campaign)

    In Relator
Lead source, which ties the lead to the paid media campaign.
  • Tags

    In Relator
Lead tags, for filtering and segmenting.
  • Choice custom fields (combo, radio, checkbox, multiple choice), number and yes/no

    In Relator
Value per lead, for filtering and segmenting.
  • Free-text custom fields

    In Relator
Only the field name. The value is not stored, because it often holds tax IDs, addresses and notes.

Sending the source

The integration does not send the Lead Source to RD Station, because it sends no data to RD Station. It works the other way: it reads the source RD already stored in the UTM, gclid and fbclid custom fields. There is no custom source.

Integration limits

  • One RD Station Marketing account per client.
  • Funnel, emails, automation and conversions arrive one day late: RD consolidates these numbers up to the previous day.
  • On RD's Light plan, only leads come in. On Pro, the analytics reports cover the last 45 days. If the plan doesn't include analytics, the connection keeps bringing in leads.
  • Analytics history goes as far back as RD's API allows: emails since August 2021, automation since January 2022, funnel and landing pages since June 2022.
  • On large bases, leads come in every hour until complete, and tags and fields take a few days on the first pass (about 4,800 leads per day).
  • Relator respects RD's API call limits and continues in the next round when it reaches them.

Additional information

  • Support: send questions about the integration to suporte@relator.digital or through the chat inside Relator. We answer in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
  • Privacy: access to RD is encrypted and data is handled under Brazil's LGPD. See How we protect your access.
  • Disconnect: in Connections, disconnect the account whenever you want. See Manage connections.
  • Languages: Relator and this article are available in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Common problems

  • The card shows "Connect it from a client". Open the client's space before connecting.
  • "Connection failed" message on return. The authorization was declined or interrupted. Try again.
  • Leads with no campaign. The lead has no UTM or gclid in the source custom fields. Check that RD's forms save the source in those fields.

Frequently asked questions

Does this integration send the Lead Source information?

No. It sends no data to RD Station. It reads the source RD stores in the UTM, gclid and fbclid custom fields.

How do I know the integration is working?

In Connections, the RD Station Marketing account shows the status and the time of the last sync. If it shows Failed, use Reconnect.

Are RD Station Marketing and RD Station CRM the same connection?

No. They are two products with different logins and data. Connect each one from its own card.

Do leads' personal data stay in Relator?

The data used in reports stays, such as email, name, sign-up date and source. Free-text custom fields aren't stored.

How often does RD Station update?

Leads update every hour, on any Relator plan. Funnel, emails and conversions arrive consolidated up to the previous day.
