A goal is a numeric target for a metric over a period: “at least 400 leads this month”, “at most R$ 15,000.00 in spend”, “ROAS of at least 4 until the end of Black Friday”. Once it's created, Relator compares the running total with the expected pace and projects where you will close. Creation is guided in three steps: Metric, Target and Alert.
Before you start
Plan: goals are part of Pro, Scale and Enterprise, and of the free trial. On Starter, the button opens the plan options. See plans and pricing.
Who can create and edit: the account owner (company), the agency team and, on the client side, Admin and Editor.
A goal belongs to one client. Pick the client in the top switcher before opening Goals.
The metric needs a connected source. With no connection that measures it, the goal shows No data.
Step by step

Step 1
Open Goals and click New goal
In the sidebar, click Goals. In the header, click New goal. If there are no goals yet, the same button appears in the middle of the screen, under No goals yet.

Step 2
Pick the metric
In the Metric step, search in Search metric… or scroll the list. Metrics are grouped by source.
General: CPA and ROAS adding up the client's paid media platforms.
Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4: the metrics of each connected platform.
HubSpot or RD Station CRM: CRM revenue, won deals, leads and win rate.

Step 3
Set the target and the period
In the Target step, fill in How much? and check the direction: the switch toggles between At least this value and At most this value. Relator already suggests the right direction (cost and CPA: at most; conversions, revenue and ROAS: at least).
Until when?: Today, This week (Monday to Sunday), This month or Dates to choose a Start and End. The line “End of period: …” confirms the date.
Goal name (optional): for example, “Black Friday campaign”. Without a name, the goal shows under the metric's name.

1How much? takes the target: a number greater than zero.
2The switch sets whether the target is a floor or a ceiling.
3Until when? sets the evaluated period.

Step 4
Set up the alert
In the Alert step, keep Notify when off pace on and adjust the Alert threshold (default 10%). The threshold is the slack allowed between the projection and the target before the goal leaves On track.
5
Step 5
Create the goal
Click Create goal. “Goal created.” appears and the goal joins the list, already showing its pace status.

Common problems
“Enter a numeric value greater than zero for the target” → How much? is empty, zero or contains text.
“Choose the start and end dates of the period” → with Dates, both dates are required, and the end can't come before the start.
Clicking New goal opens the upgrade window → your current plan doesn't include goals.
The metric I want isn't listed → its source isn't connected for this client.
Frequently asked questions
Can I create a goal for a future period?
Yes. With Dates, choose a start and end in the future, for example Black Friday week. The goal has no reading until the period starts.
Can I have several goals for the same metric?
Yes. For example, a monthly spend goal and a weekly one. Each is evaluated in its own period.
Do monthly goals restart every month?
Yes. A goal set to This month always evaluates the current month; on the 1st the count starts over.
Does the end client see goals?
Goals don't appear in the client portal. People with app access to the client's workspace see the Goals screen.
