In Relator, each agency client gets its own space: the ad accounts, reports, goals and portal of that client are kept apart from everyone else. Creating the client is the first step to serving someone through Relator. You do it in one panel with three steps: Details, Integrations and Review.

Before you start

  • Clients only exist in agency accounts. In a company account, Relator works with a single space: yours.
  • Clients are created by the agency team. People a client invites to the portal never see the Clients screen.
  • Each agency plan has a maximum number of active clients. Archived clients do not count. See the table at the end of this article.
  • Have the client name ready. Legal name, CNPJ, website, brand color and the emails of portal users are optional and can be filled in later.

Step by step

  1. 1
    Step 1

    Open the Clients screen

In the agency sidebar, click Clients. The screen shows your whole book, with the count of active and archived clients at the top. Click Add client.

  2. 2
    Step 2

    Fill in the client details

The first step, Details, has two groups. Only the name is required.

    • Client name: how the client appears in the client switcher and in reports. It needs at least 2 characters.
    • Legal name and CNPJ: registration data. The CNPJ is locked after the client is created.
    • Site: with it, Relator tries to fetch the icon, logo and color from the client’s website right after creation.
    • Brand color: accent used on the client’s profile and reports.
    • Business type: picks the client’s result and key metric. Leave it on Not set (infer from data) if you are not sure yet.
    • Internal notes: contact, contract, media focus. Only the agency team sees them.

  3. 3
    Step 3

    Pick platforms and invite people

In the Integrations step, select the platforms the client uses (Meta Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics 4). This works as a reminder on the review screen: no account is connected here. Below, under Invite people, click Add invite for each person on the client side who will use the portal.

    • On each row, type the email and choose the role: Admin, Editor or Viewer. The default is Editor.
    • You can add up to 20 invites at once.
    • You can skip this: you can invite people later from inside the client.

    Step 4

    Review and create

The Review step shows the name, the selected integrations and the invites. If everything looks right, click Create client. To fix something, use Back.

  5. 5
    Step 5

    Connect the client’s accounts

The client starts with no data sources. Now assign the ad accounts the agency already connected (Business Manager and MCC) or connect sources directly in the client’s space. See Distribute BM and MCC accounts across clients.

What happens next

  • You see the confirmation “Bravo created.”, with the number of invites sent when there are any.
  • The client shows up on the Clients screen and in the client switcher. It now counts toward your plan’s client limit.
  • If you entered a website, Relator tries to fetch the logo and brand color. If it finds nothing, the client keeps its initials until you upload a logo.
  • Each invited person gets an email to set up portal access. People who are already part of your agency get access right away, without an email.
  • On the agency Home, the getting-started guide starts tracking this client’s journey: accounts assigned, brand, first report, scheduled delivery and portal.

How many clients your plan allows

The number of active clients depends on the agency plan. During the free trial, the account gets Pro limits. When the trial ends without a subscription, you cannot create new clients until you choose a plan.

Prices in Brazilian reais (BRL). The values and limits in this table come straight from the plan catalog, so they are always up to date.

Need just a few more clients? The plans accept the Extra workspace add-on (one more client, with 5 more sources), billed monthly, up to a maximum per plan. See Add-ons.

Common issues

  • “Client name must be at least 2 characters.” The field is empty or has a single letter. Fix it and click Continue.
  • The plan picker opened when I clicked Add client. You reached the client limit. Archive a client you no longer serve or change plans. See Plan limit reached.
  • The client was created, but an invite never arrived. Creating the client does not depend on the invites. Open the client and invite again from the Team card. See The invite never arrived.
  • The logo did not come from the website. Some sites do not expose a logo or color in a readable way. Upload the logo in Edit profile or in Settings › Brand, with Upload another logo.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a client without connecting any account?

Yes. The client starts with no sources and you connect or assign accounts later. Until then, its dashboards stay empty.

Does selecting Meta Ads in the Integrations step connect the account?

No. The selection only appears on the review. The connection happens in Sources, after the client exists.

Do client invites use agency seats?

No. Plan seats only count the agency team. Client people in the portal do not take a seat.

Can I change the name later?

Yes, at any time, in Settings › General inside the client. Only the CNPJ is locked after creation.

Does archiving a client free up room in my plan?

Yes. Archived clients do not count toward the active client limit.
