When a number doesn't show up, the screen itself almost always tells you why: a source that hasn't finished its first sync, an account that isn't assigned to the client, a period the platform hasn't published yet. This guide shows where to look, what each message means and how to fix it, from the most common cause to the rarest.
Start here: what the screen is telling you
Open Performance in the client where the number is missing. At the top of Overview you'll find the Needs attention block: it lists, by urgency, every source that is down, behind or has no data, with a button that takes you straight to your connections. If it says Nothing needs attention in this period., your sources are up to date and the cause is the period, a filter or the platform itself.

2Needs attention lists every source with a problem, most urgent first.

No channels connected for this view
What it means
The open tab needs a source this client doesn't have (e.g. Organic without GA4).
What to do
Connect that source or go back to Overview.
{source} connected, still no data
What it means
The first sync hasn't finished yet.
What to do
Wait. If it takes long, see the causes below.
{source} is N days behind
What it means
The source syncs, but the most recent days haven't arrived.
What to do
Open your connections and check the source's status.
Part of the data didn't land. The period total is lower than reality.
Reprocessing is automatic. Wait for the next sync.
No data for this range
The source is up to date, but the platform has no data for those days.
Widen the period or check whether the campaigns ran.
No data for today yet / Today hasn't closed yet
Today's data arrives throughout the day.
Use See yesterday for a complete day.
Search Console hasn't published this day yet
Google publishes search data 2 to 3 days late.
Use See the latest published day.
Possible causes, from most to least common
1. The source was just connected
Right after you connect, the source shows Never synced or Syncing. The first sync brings the most recent month first and then works backward until the history is complete. Meanwhile, an older period may look empty even though the platform has data. Details in Imported history.
2. The account isn't assigned to the client (agencies)
In an agency, the BM and the MCC are connected once and each ad account has to be assigned to a client. An account without a client shows Not syncing under connections, with the hint Assign the account to a client to start syncing it. Pick the client in the Assigned to column. See BM and MCC for agencies.
3. The account wasn't selected when connecting
When you connect a BM, MCC or property, only the accounts you check are synced. If an ad account, GA4 property or Search Console site was left unchecked, it brings no data. Connect again and check the missing account.
4. You're in the wrong client or period
Numbers always belong to the space open in the switcher at the top. Check the client name and the period (for example, Today only covers the day in progress). In an agency, the consolidated view and a client view show different slices. See Periods and comparisons.
5. The source has an error or is behind
If access to the platform expired or was revoked, syncing stops and the numbers stay frozen on the last synced day. History stays saved. Follow Connection error, behind or disconnected.
6. The day hasn't closed or the platform hasn't published it
Today's numbers arrive throughout the day and only close after midnight in the account's time zone.
GA4 may reprocess today's data for up to 48 hours.
Search Console publishes 2 to 3 days late, so Today and Yesterday stay empty for that source. See Search Console delay.
7. The metric depends on another source
Some indicators need a specific source. No revenue source connected means that without GA4 e-commerce or a CRM, ROAS cannot be computed. Spend with no conversion recorded means either the campaigns didn't convert or conversions aren't reaching Relator: check the pixel and conversion events on the platform.
8. You're signed in as the agency's client
In the client portal, connections are read-only and marked Via agency. The agency is the one that connects, reconnects and assigns accounts. If data is missing, let your account manager at the agency know.
How to confirm the cause
1
Step 1
Read Needs attention
In Performance › Overview, check whether a source shows up under Needs attention. The title already says which source and since when.
2
Step 2
Open your sources
In the sidebar, click Sources. The Data sources screen lists every source with its Status and Last sync. Use the Status filter to see only the ones that need attention.

2Not syncing with Unassigned: the account needs a client in the Assigned to column.
3
Step 3
Compare with the platform for the same period
If your sources are Fresh and the number is still zero, open the platform (Ads Manager, Google Ads, GA4) for the same period and account. If it's zero there too, there was no data: a paused campaign, an exhausted budget or a tag missing from the site.
4
Step 4
Act on the cause
Assign the account, reconnect the source, widen the period or wait for the first sync. Once fixed, the numbers come back on the next sync, without losing the history already collected.
When to ask for help
If a source stays on Never synced for many hours, if Resync doesn't unblock anything, or if the platform shows data that Relator doesn't while the source is Fresh, contact support. Tell us the client, the source, the account and the period.
Frequently asked questions
I just connected and everything is empty. Is that normal?
Yes. The first sync starts right after you connect and brings the most recent period first. Until it finishes, the source shows Never synced or Syncing and isn't counted in the numbers.
Why do only the last few days show up while last month is empty?
On the first load, Relator brings the most recent month and then the history going backward. Check back later: the older period fills in on its own.
My client says their dashboard is empty, but mine isn't. Why?
Check that they are in the same space and period as you. If the ad account isn't assigned to their client space, their dashboard won't have its data.
Will old data disappear if I reconnect?
No. Reconnecting, resyncing or even disconnecting doesn't delete the history already collected.
Why is the Organic tab empty?
It depends on Google Analytics 4. Without GA4 connected, the screen shows No channels connected for this view.
